2027 Cumberland Girls Football Program Information

**Get Ready for the Next Evolution of Girls Football with the Cumberland Girls Football Club**

As we begin to look toward 2027, the Cumberland Girls Football Club is excited to share important dates and our early plans for what will surely be our biggest year yet. We're already excited to see our returning players and coaches back on the field, but even more, we're going to be expanding our program offerings to create even more opportunities for young women to participate in this great sport.

OWFL Spring Tackle Teams
Registration Opens - December 1st, 2026
Ages - 12 - 19

Our spring tackle teams will encounter a different brand of football in 2027 as it's expected the OWFL will develop a new 7 on 7 tackle ruleset. New strategies, new plays and new challenges await players and coaches!

Additionally, the OWFL is expanding to some new cities in 2027, with Oakville and Niagara joining the fun at both age groups, and some existing 19U teams planning for U16 teams also.

NCAFA Spring Flag Teams
Registration Opens - Februrary 1st, 2027
Ages - 9 - 19

Our spring recreational flag teams will be back in the hunt in 2027, with additional pre-season practices before the season kicks-off.  Every year the demand for this program has been greater than the last so we're working on ways to create even more teams at each age division to ensure everyone has a chance to play.

NCAFA Cheer Team
Registration Opens - Februrary 1st, 2027
Ages - 5 - 13

Next year we're hoping to expand the games our awesome cheer team participates at and include cheers at the OWFL girls tackle games. No other OWFL team has a cheer program, so once again, Cumberland will create the foundation for the rest of the country to follow. 

Elite Flag Teams
Registration Opens - TBD
Ages - 12 - 19

With a fantastic response in 2026, our Elite flag program is becoming the first choice for players looking toward the next level. Foundational skillsets that have an eye on post-secondary opportunities take centre-stage.

OWFL Fall Senior Women's Tackle
Registration Opens - TBD
Ages - 18 +

Cumberland will represent Ottawa in the new OWFL Sr. Womens division for adults aged 18 and up. This is an exciting initiative, one being pushed hard by Football Ontario and Football Canada and we plan to be leaders on the field and off, as always.
